EGM/AGM on Nov 28 at 7.30pm
A combined Extraordinary General Meeting and Annual General Meeting has been called for Friday November 28 at the Hartnoll Hotel, starting at 7.30pm. These meetings are vital to consider the future of the Club in view of rising costs and current membership numbers. The EGM will consider the WSPC Committee's recommendations for the 2009 season and beyond, and all members should make every effort to attend. Please advise Lisa on 01884 829550 whether you will be there. The Marie Curie Charity Match, the big social event of the season, was a huge success, raising £1600 for the cancer care charity and attracting some 300 spectators. Chris Dornom's Stallenge Thorne beat Coach House Stables by 8 goals to 4 1/2. Click here for details. For photos, click here On Saturday, August 23, a WSPC team consisting
of Chris Dornom, Chris Hill, Amanda Norman
and Jeremy Toye, took on Roger White's
Coombe Place at Vaux Park. The match
was better than the scoreline of 8 to 1 1/2
in favour of Roger's team, who sadly
had to be gently turned away from the Charity
Day the followng day because of water on
our field. Click here for details.
The WSPC Polo Demonstration at Dunster Show on August 15 was very well received, with an excellent stand to promote the Club. For details and photos, click here. Meanwhile, Devon & Somerset Pony Club won the under-16s Loriner Division One at the Cowdray Championships, with Tiverton taking second in the under-21 Rendell division one. Click here for details. The Pony Club Rally on July 17 turned out to be a real feast
of polo, with 13 teams from across Western
England playing a total of 22 chukkas on
both fields. Six hours of polo was
split by a splendid lunch at the clubhouse.
James and Sheron Harris did a great job of
organisation, and club members turned out
to offer essential support. A great
day, hopefully to become a regular feature
of the WSPC calendar. For results,
